Get the Look: Modern Coastal Meets Mid-Century Modern

One of my favorite ways to create a living room that feels both timeless and inviting is by blending Modern Coastal and Mid-Century Modern design. The coastal elements keep the space feeling light and relaxed, while the warm wood tones and clean furniture lines add character and warmth.

In this mood board, I combined soft neutrals, dusty blue accents, natural textures, and Mid-Century-inspired furniture to create a space that feels fresh, comfortable, and easy to live in.

One of the things I love most about this room is the balance between warm and cool tones. The dusty blue accents bring in a subtle coastal feel, while the caramel throw and warm walnut furniture keep the room from feeling cold.

The Mid-Century furniture adds structure and simplicity, while the artwork, textures, and greenery soften the overall look. Together, they create a space that feels collected rather than decorated.

If you're trying to recreate this style in your own home, start with a neutral sofa and one warm wood finish. Then layer in a few soft blue (I love adding a caramel burnt orange) accents and natural textures. It's a simple formula that creates a relaxed, designer-inspired look without feeling overly themed or trendy.

This is the look I chose for my OWN home remodel! You can see some of the pictures on my home tour page. A few before and afters.
