The Biggest Impact for Your Buck to Upgrade Your Home:Lighting

If there's one thing I suggest to new clients over and over again, it's this:

Update your light fixtures.

When I walk into a home that feels dated, I often know immediately that we can completely change the vibe simply by replacing old lighting.

The before-and-after above is a perfect example. The furniture, rug, and accessories stayed largely the same, but the updated fixture instantly makes the space feel more current and intentional.

Why It Works

Lighting is strange. It's not furniture, and sometimes you don't really pay attention to it, but I promise you,  it creates an entire vibe or feel in your home. An outdated fixture can age an entire space, while a new fixture can make your home feel fresh, custom, and updated.

Below are some of my favorite  lights that create a high-end look without a high-end price tag.

A quick note: If you find something you love, I may earn a small commission from qualifying purchases. It doesn't cost you anything extra, and it helps me keep creating free decorating inspiration. 🙂
