How to Save Thousands on Home Decor Using Google Lens.

If you've been following my blog for a while, you know I'm an interior designer who LOVES to save money. Today I'm about to share one of my biggest designer secrets—one that has literally saved me and my clients thousands of dollars on furniture.

There isn't a single design project where I don't use Google Lens.

How to use Google Lens

It's incredibly simple. All you need is the Google app on your phone (it's even easier if you use Google Photos). Just tap the Lens icon on any picture, and Google will search the internet for that exact item—or pieces that look almost identical.

Whenever friends come over to my house, I usually end up giving them a Google Lens demonstration because it really is that good!

Google lens for home decor

A few months ago I gave my home a much-needed house facelift . We replaced the furniture, carpet, and flooring, and Google Lens helped me stretch my budget so much further.

For example, I completely fell in love with my sofa which was online.. I always recommend reading reviews before buying furniture online (I even wrote a blog post about it). The first retailer I found was selling the sofa for $5,900. That was over my budget, so I searched it with Google Lens.

The exact same sofa showed up at several retailers, and one store had it on clearance for $1,699.

Needless to say, I bought it immediately!

It has honestly been one of the best furniture purchases I've ever made. It is so comfortable! Even my husband couldn't believe it turned out so great having ordered it online—and he was even happier that I saved over $4,200! 😁

The same thing happened with my coffee table.

I first spotted one I loved in an inspiration photo. That's another thing I love about Google Lens—you don't even have to take the picture yourself. You can use a photo from Pinterest, a magazine, or almost any website.

Google Lens found the exact same coffee table selling anywhere from $499 down to $126.

The one above is from Wayfair,  the Walmart one that I bought which was the exact same is actually out of stock at the moment. But it would be the perfect time to use Google Lens to see if you can find it any better than the current Wayfair price!

Guess which one I bought?

Yep...the $126 one.

My entry bench was another great example.

The exact same bench ranged anywhere from $187 to $779.00!!!!!!!  and it only took a couple of minutes to find the best price.

Only because I'm such a huge fan of Google Lens, I'll give you one more example outside of home decorating.

I was walking through the airport when I noticed a woman wearing the cutest shoes. Instead of wondering where she bought them, I snapped a quick picture, searched them with Google Lens, and found the exact pair online—along with the best price.

Seriously...it's that easy.

Furniture Worth Running Through Google Lens

These are beautiful pieces I'd personally buy. Before you purchase, run them through Google Lens and compare prices—you may be surprised how much you save!
